General Properties of the License

• Private: The license codes you are able to request here are for private use only, according to the license conditions. If you need another license, you can get one at different albeit also very moderate conditions. Examples would be:
  • Use of QIRX as a test program in a public small-scale mux, private or commercial.
  • Use of QIRX in the context of a university or school project.
  • Use of QIRX in a commercial environment.
  Please note that the license for QIRX V4 differs from earlier licenses.
• Two types of license keys: "Demo" and "Full".
  • Demo:
    QIRX V4 will work unrestricted for a time span of 15 days, starting with the "Submit" request. During this time you have the opportunity to decide if QIRX suits your needs. After this time, QIRX will stop working.
    
  • Full:
    QIRX V4 will work timely unrestricted. Please consult the license agreement for further conditions.
• License, no refund: Due to the 15-day demo time span, once a payment has been made, no refund is possible.
• Two license keys: For each of both license types, you can download two license keys, to be installed on different machines.
• Machine binding: Each license key will be bound to the machine where it is used. The binding happens on first use of a license key.
• License key revoke: If you would like to remove the machine binding (e.g. if you want to move the license to another machine), you need to inform me about it via email, and I will remove the machine binding. This must not happen too frequently.

Demo key request, Step-by-Step

1. Name and email address: Enter them into the form below. Keep it for later use, as this info is used to identify you in the database.
2. License Type: Select "Demo".
3. License: Click the checkbox as confirmation that you read and understood the license conditions and "no refund" agreement.
4. Submit: Click the "Submit" button: a "Demo" license key is created and sent to you via the email address you entered. The email contains the payment details in case you want to buy a "Full" license code later.
5. Start QIRX V4: If -after installation and the first start - no valid license key is found (normal after having just received it via email), the "About" Box is opened automatically, giving you the opportunity to enter your license key. Enter the license key and Click "Save". It will be stored in the configuration file.
   For this to work properly, you must be connected to the internet.
6. Use QIRX V4: Use the software and see whether it satisfies your needs. If you decide to buy a "Full" license code, then continue.

Payment

• Money Transfer: Get the details of the money transfer from the email containing the "Demo" key.
• Transfer the amount of 20 Euro into the bank account detailed in the "Demo" email. Please do not forget to add the transfer code.
• Payment Method: Currently, the only payment method is a transfer into the bank account mentioned in the "Demo" email.
• Delay: Please give me about one day to process it. Usually it happens faster.

Full key request, Step-by-Step

1. Qualification: You must be qualified for the request of a "Full" key, e.g. by having made a payment (see last section).
2. Name and email address: Enter them into the form below. Make sure that you use exactly the same info as in the "Demo" request. The name is case-sensitive.
3. License Type: Select "Full".
4. License, no refund: Click the checkbox as confirmation that you read and understood the license conditions and "no refund" agreement.
5. Submit: Click the "Submit" button: a "Full" license key is created and sent to you via your email address.
6. Start QIRX V4 and replace the "Demo" key by the "Full" key (you must be connected to the internet):
   • Open the "About" dialog: Click on the large 'i' in the top bar.
   • Click 'Edit': The program tries to read the current license key from the config file.
   • Replace the content of the 'Key' field with your new license key.
   • Click 'Save': The entered key is stored in the config file.
   • Click 'Ok': You are leaving the dialog.
   • Restart QIRX. A permanent license key should work now.
